Pilea peperomioides, commonly known as the Chinese Money Plant, is appreciated for its unique, coin-shaped leaves.

  1. Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight but may need protection from intense afternoon sun, which can scorch its leaves.
  2. Watering: Allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly when needed, ensuring that the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging.
  3. Humidity: Generally adaptable to average home humidity. It doesn’t require extra humidity, but it can tolerate a bit of misting if the air is very dry.
  4. Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C).
  5. Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as one formulated for succulents or a general-purpose mix with added perlite for aeration.
  6. Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
  7. Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Spring is the best time to repot.
  8. Pruning: Remove any dead or damaged leaves to promote healthy growth. You can also trim the plant to encourage a fuller shape.

With the right care, your Pilea peperomioides will thrive and become a vibrant, attractive part of your plant collection.
